Bio

Prior to serving as Director of Lead by Design, Christie was the Director of the Center for Leadership Learning, or CLL. She has been a part of the UC Davis community for 22 years, with eighteen of those years leading CLL. Before UC Davis, Christie served as the California state representative for the college admission testing organization ACT; as a regional outreach coordinator for UC Merced Early Academic Outreach Program; and a case manager for Court Appointed Special Advocates of Tulare County. 

Christie earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Master of Arts in Higher Educational Leadership from California State University, Sacramento. As a leadership educator, Christie infuses identity development, inclusivity, and social justice into her teachings and is enthusiastic about supporting students on their leadership journey. In her life beyond UC Davis, Christie loves to travel and enjoys learning about world history and cultures. To date, she has traveled to twelve countries spanning Central America, Western and Eastern Europe, and has a goal to explore East Asia. When at home, Christie enjoys getting lost in her K-pop fandom, binge watching K-dramas, tending her flower garden, and trying to meet the high demands of her cat Pepper.
